How can we go beyond “clicktivism” and actually engage the memesphere? How could our group have create a space that actually was able to sustain an audience? In order for our group to have executed this task better I believe that remix is a crucial key. The use of remix in the online culture is extremely powerful if used correctly. Though we attempted forms of remix, those that actually go viral and become successful are ones people find relevant and familiar. The websites and online spaces that avoid “clicktivism” and are successful at their mission are those that provide an engaging, entertaining, and encouraging possibilities for its audience. The audience actually is effected on a personal level by the online presence of these sites and it is encouraging that this capability is able to be provide to us online.

Clearly this is a mighty attempt for our group as our main mission was to inform and create awareness about homelessness. However looking into the future I believe if I were to attempt something like this again I would firstly have to use a platform that I have a lot of friends and family already sharing and engaging with each other such as Facebook. It seems as if most people tend to pay attention towards things with a lot of views, likes, and followers mainly because they see and are enticed that many other people have gotten a good experience or are inspired by it to follow that person. For this reason I think it is important to have a platform, personally for me Facebook, where I can gain those beginning followers more easily through people whom already trust, like, and follow me, and then more people outside my Facebook community will be more encourage to follow and engage as well.

Most importantly however though the use of remix and forms of Electracy are clearly the most creative and expressive ways of creating activism, either digital or in their real lives, and avoiding “clicktivism.” People need to be engaged with what they’re doing, and to participate and feel a connection as a virtual community. People are enticed by this idea of the “epic meaning” resulting in an “epic win” and if they do not feel like their personal involvement and engagement fulfills that it is hard to win over their time. That is why I lastly think that a high volume of postings and many different forms of the apparatus theory are also needed to sustain and occupy the space into this entertaining and enthralling community in which people want to seek out.
